Information Overload: How do I avoid drowning in information from online focus groups, bulletin boards and communities?

  • How do you plan the front end for better data management: tell stores and then summarize them into top 3 lists with word clouds, have client prioritize key questions, during focus groups ask clients what they already knew and what is new to them, narrowly and clearly define your objectives so you don’t generate spurious information
  • Share your useful tips for dealing with large quantities of data: Use a tagging tool as it comes in, tell the story of the product and use the data to fill in the holes, use online tools to identify key findings in real time, color code transcripts, sample from the information
  • What are some tools that help you analyze large quantities of data: text analytics tools, envivo program, online tools help you organize your information, vendor platforms that have a lot of organizational components, use hashtracker, keep a searchable video library, QUMU to search keywords in videos
